This meeting-debate proposes an exploration of the international situation of LGBTQIA+ individuals, between advancements in rights and the persistence of hate and discrimination.
Organized by Montpellier 2028, in partnership with the Maison des relations internationales and the Observatoire des discriminations de Montpellier, it will welcome representatives from six Prides in Europe and North America (Kiev, Istanbul, Budapest, Sherbrooke, Heidelberg, Manchester, Paris). It will be an opportunity to take stock at the international level of the rights and recognition achieved by LGBTQIA+ individuals, but also to raise awareness of the ongoing threats: hate speech, violence, and the resurgence of discriminatory legislation in many countries.
